MANILA, Philippines — Presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao is continuously mobilizing his people and his supporters even on Christmas Eve to extend help to areas ravaged by Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai).
Huwag po tayong bumitaw sa pananalig sa Panginoon,” Pacquiao said in his Christmas message.
Pacquaio said a total of 15 portable power generators, which were donated by Team Pacquiao GG led by Shin Boo, will be flown Friday to Siargao to provide recharging facilities for essential electronic devices. Aside from the generators, at least three tons each of relief were also dispatched to Puerto Princesa, Kabangkalan, and Sipalay in Negros Occidental on Friday.
This is on top of the 80 tons of relief goods that were delivered and distributed in areas hardest hit by Odette in the past six days.
This effort involved 16 humanitarian flights in seven days to deliver relief in Cebu, Siargao, Butuan Dumaguete/Bais, Cagayan de Oro, Bohol, Leyte, Negros island, and Palawan.
Pacquiao also urged Filipinos to help typhoon victims through prayers and charity. He pointed out that the misfortunes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and now Typhoon Odette is a test of faith as he assured the victims that his team is working hard to bring them help.
Pacquiao also thanked his friends, supporters, and various organizations such as the Ateneo Alumni Philippines, La Salle Alumni Philippines, and the Tzu Chi Foundation for entrusting their donations to the United Relief Operations which he organized for Odette victims.
