New COVID-19 cases in NCR slightly up on Dec. 23 but remains below 100
MANILA, Philippines — New COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila slightly increased on Thursday, December 23, but remained below the 100 mark, OCTA Research said Friday.
Based on the list shared by OCTA Research fellow Guido David which cited data from the Department of Health (DOH), Metro Manila reported the highest number of new COVID-19 infections on December 23 at 95 cases.
This was a slight increase from the 80 new cases recorded the previous day, December 22.

Following Metro Manila are Iloilo (18 new cases), Negros Occidental (17 new cases), Zamboanga del Sur (15 new cases), Negros Oriental (11 new cases), and Oriental Mindoro (10 new cases).
Article continues after this advertisementThe provinces of Cavite, Tarlac, and Batangas recorded nine new COVID-19 cases each while Isabela had eight new infections.
The Philippines logged 288 new COVID-19 cases on December 23, with the DOH noting that the positivity rate slightly increased to 1.1 percent.
With the new infections, the overall case count rose to 2,837,903.
