Comelec set to hear Marcos cases in January

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has scheduled next month the preliminary conferences for four disqualification cases against presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The Comelec’s second division on Thursday set on Jan. 14 the preliminary conference for the disqualification case filed by the group Pudno Nga Ilokano (Real Ilocanos).

Last Tuesday, Comelec’s first division scheduled on Jan. 7 the preliminary conference for three other disqualification cases against Marcos. These are the petitions brought by organizers of the Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses and Martial Law on Nov. 17, by supposed officials of Marcos’ political party Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, and by other martial law survivors led by the Akbayan party list group that were both filed on Dec. 2. –DONA Z.
