Mabalacat City logs 2 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death after virus-free status

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––This city registered two new COVID-19 cases and one death Wednesday, a day after declaring itself free of the viral disease.

On its social media page, the city government said the two new cases are residents of Dau, the biggest village in this city. The fatality was from Paralayunan village.

On Tuesday, the city government issued a statement saying that it recorded zero COVID-19 active cases after the lone patient in Dau recovered and after almost two years of battling the virus.

This city has recorded 7,239 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 7,009 had recovered while 228 had died.

The City of San Fernando declared that it had obtained a COVID-free status Wednesday, the day after its lone patient from Del Rosario village recovered.

Since the pandemic started last year, San Fernando has registered 11,284 COVID-19 cases, of which 10,955 had recovered and 328 had died.
