MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Balut, Island in Sarangani town, Davao Occidental on Wednesday night, the state seismology bureau reported.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the earthquake, reported at 8:27 pm, occurred 369 kilometers east of Balut Island, Municipality of Sarangani.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 65 kilometers.
No areas felt the intensity of the earthquake, and no aftershocks are expected, according to Phivolcs.
