976,950 gov’t-procured Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive in PH

MANILA, Philippines — Almost one million Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses procured by the government arrived in the country on Monday evening.

The National Task Force Against COVID-19 said that the 976,950 Pfizer doses were procured through the Asian Development Bank.

The delivery arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 around 9 p.m.

Earlier in the day, the Philippines received a donation from the United States government of 1,776,060 Pfizer shots.

Since vaccine deliveries started in February, the Philippines got a total of 187,165,885 COVID-19 vaccines as of December 20, of which, 107,259,520 were bought by the national government.

As of December 19, the country has administered 100,907,667 vaccine doses.

To date, 43.5 million individuals in the Philippines are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
