Only 1 active COVID-19 case left in Pampanga’s capital city

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The City of San Fernando is only a single case shy of becoming a COVID-free locality, the city government disclosed on Sunday, Dec. 19.

In its latest bulletin, the local government announced that the patient from Sta. Lucia had already recovered from the disease, leaving the recuperating patient in Del Rosario as the only active COVID-19 case in the city.

On Sunday, the city registered zero new cases and no deaths.

The city government advised residents and people entering San Fernando to always abide by the minimum health protocols like wearing of face masks and observing physical distancing.

Since the pandemic began last year, the capital city has registered a total of 11,284 COVID-19 cases of which 10,955 have recovered and 328 had died.

As of Dec. 16, San Fernando government has fully inoculated 185,569 residents which comprise 52.3 percent of its 354,666 total population based on the 2020 census.

Some 42,582 others or 12.8 percent of the total population have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines and are still waiting for their second dose.
