P68-M shabu seized in Laguna bust; 4 suspects nabbed

Police arrested three persons here on Wednesday night (Aug. 11) for possession of a gun and several sachets of crystal meth or shabu, but only after a chase in the sea.

LUCENA CITY – An estimated P68 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) were recovered and four suspected drug pushers were arrested in a buy-bust operation in San Pedro City in Laguna province on Friday night, police said Saturday.

The Laguna police information office reported that anti-narcotics agents nabbed Ace Arciaga, 35; Shamewayne Darvin, 19; Benz Gonzales, 21; and a minor after they sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in South Fairway Homes in Barangay (village) Landayan around 9:45 p.m.

Police recovered 10 kilos of shabu worth P68,000,000 from the suspects.

The suspects were detained and are now facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Further investigation is now being conducted to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

On Friday night, police officers in Quezon province also seized P13 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Lucena City.
