An hour-long fire being blamed on an illegal power connection razed several homes in a slum community in Quezon City on Sunday night.

Over 30 families were left homeless by the blaze, which destroyed around 20 shanties on Block 6, Ronas Garden, at Loyola Heights.

Arson investigator Fire Officer 1 Jovelyn Panganiban said they were checking claims that an illegal electrical connection could be the cause of the fire.
