Only 1 active COVID-19 case left in Olongapo City

OLONGAPO CITY––Four more patients here have recovered from COVID-19, leaving the city with a single active case, local data showed on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

The city did not record new infections, keeping its total tally at 5,457 since the pandemic began last year.

For three consecutive days, the city did not record a new COVID-19 case. No deaths were recorded on Monday and in the past two days.

With 5,139 patients getting cleared of the viral disease, the city’s recovery rate stood at 94 percent.

So far, 152,693 residents, or 84 percent of the target population, had been inoculated the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19. At least 113,735 residents or 58 percent had been fully vaccinated, including those who received the single-shot Janssen vaccine.

The city aims to inoculate 182,000 residents or 70 percent of its 260,000-population to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
