MANILA, Philippines — Around 1.5 million doses of Moderna and 945,600 doses of Johnson and Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccines arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday.
According to the National Task Force Against COVID-19, the latest batch of deliveries comprised vaccine donations to the country from France and Spain with 1,058,400 doses and 453,600 doses of the Moderna jab, respectively, as well as 945,600 doses of J&J shot from the Netherlands.
The task force said all vaccine donations were through the worldwide initiative COVAX Facility.
The French and Spanish governments’ donations were carried by Emirates flight EK332 while the Dutch government’s donation was ferried by Qatar Airways flight QR932 into the country.
Both flights landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The government earlier said that the Philippines is set to receive around 8 million COVID-19 vaccine doses on Tuesday, the biggest arrival of doses in a single day.

Three more flights carrying donated COVID-19 vaccine doses were being anticipated as of this posting.
As of Monday evening, the country already received a total of 158,540,170 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines. Deliveries of the COVID-19 vaccines in the country started in February this year.
