MANILA, Philippines — A total of 859,950 doses of the US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to the Philippines on Monday night.
Air Hong Kong flight LD456 carried the government-procured Pfizer vaccine doses and it landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at around 9:05 p.m.
The coronavirus vaccine doses arrived amid the national government’s efforts to inoculate minors aged 12 to 17 and give booster shots to the public.
As of December 12, a total of 96,519,211 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country. This includes 774,321 booster doses.
The number of individuals fully vaccinated against the new coronavirus or those who have received two shots has so far reached 37,431,765, while those who have completed the single-dose vaccine stood at 3,607,570.
Vaccines developed by Pfizer and Moderna against the dreaded COVID-19 can be used for minors and as booster shots in the Philippines.
