OLONGAPO CITY––At least 710 people were arrested and about P4 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in Central Luzon during a weeklong anti-crime campaign of the regional police.
The Central Luzon regional police said in a statement Monday, Dec. 13, that 209 of the arrested had standing warrants of arrest for various offenses, including murder, rape, and frustrated murder.
It said 182 were nabbed for drugs, 255 for gambling, and the others for other violations.
Among the illegal drugs confiscated from Dec. 6 to 12 were crystal meth and marijuana worth P4.44 million.
Also seized from illegal gamblers were some P65,000 worth of bet money during the same period, the police said.
