MANILA, Philippines — Twelve cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) as well as the municipality of Pateros are “very low risk” for COVID-19, independent pandemic monitor Octa Research reported on Monday.
According to Octa Research fellow Guido David on Twitter, the 12 NCR cities “very low risk” for the coronavirus are Caloocan, Las Piñas, Mandaluyong, Parañaque, Marikina, Pasig, Navotas, Valenzuela, San Juan, Manila, Pasay, and Taguig.
Meanwhile, Muntinlupa, Quezon City, Malabon, and Makati are at low risk for COVID-19. The cities have more than 30% health care utilization rate.
Regionally, Metro Manila remains at very low risk, Octa Research said.
“The NCR averaged just 91 new COVID-19 cases per day as of December 6 to 12. The incidence or [average daily attack rate] decreased to less than 1, at 0.64 per day per 100k, while the reproduction number was very low at 0.39. The test positivity rate was just 0.9%,” the group explained.
They said that the seven-day average of COVID cases in Metro Manila lowered to less than 100 for the first time since March 22 to 28, 2020.
Octa Research noted that the data was obtained from the Department of Health but the metrics used are based on covidactnow.org.
