Iggy Arroyo’s body to be flown on Wednesday–court papers

MANILA, Philippines — The remains of the late Representative Ignacio Arroyo are set to be flown in on Wednesday night via Emirates Airline.

This was disclosed in a court status hearing before Judge Eleuterio Bathan of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 92 on Monday regarding the agreement between his estranged wife Aleli Arroyo and his long-time partner, Grace Ibuna.

The status hearing was to update the court of the funeral arrangements and schedule for the late congressman, who died in London on Jan. 26 in the company of Ibuna.

From the airport, his body will be brought to the Arlington Funeral Homes on Wednesday night.

The remains will be transferred to the Arroyos’ ancestral home on 14 Badjao St. in La Vista Subdivision on March 1, where it will remain until Saturday.

On Saturday, the body will be brought a few doors down to 17 Badjao St. where Aleli and Iggy once lived together as husband and wife.

On Monday, March 5, the remains will be transferred to the House of Representatives for necrological services.

It will be flown in the afternoon at 4 p.m. to Bacolod where Arroyo’s constituents can pay their last respects. The body will remain there until March 7.

The remains will be flown back to Manila on the morning of March 8 and brought to the Arroyos’ ancestral home once more.
