Zero COVID-19 cases in Quezon on Saturday; active cases down to 57
LUCENA CITY — For the second time this month, Quezon province had no new COVID-19 case on Saturday, according to the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO).
On December 1, the IPHO also recorded zero new COVID-19 cases and fatalities
From December 1 to 11, only 36 COVID-19 cases have been recorded so far.
The IPHO also listed four recoveries from the town of Pagbilao on Saturday.
In November, the IPHO recorded 211 new COVID-19 cases, much lower than 2,115 in October and 5,342 in September.

Article continues after this advertisementOut of 41 local governments units, the IPHO reported that 27 towns no longer have any infected individuals as of December 11. Those previously infected in these municipalities have either recovered or died.
The latest data revealed that of 14 localities still hosting active COVID-19 cases, four towns – Unisan, Real, Buenavista and Atimonan – have only one remaining infection each; five localities have two each – Mauban, Pagbilao, Sariaya, San Antonio and Lopez, while Candelaria has three, Polillo four, Tayabas City five and Guinayangan six.
Lucena City, Quezon’s capital, topped the list with 25 active virus carriers, a huge drop from the highest single-day tally of 572 on October 13.
The COVID-19 death toll in Quezon now stands at 1,475.
Governor Danilo Suarez appealed to residents to remain vigilant and continue the relentless campaign to control, if not end, the pandemic’s grip on the province.
Suarez urged the public to continue practicing basic health protocols, like wearing face masks and keeping a one-meter distance from the next person in public places.
