More schools in Bacolod City, Negros Occ to join pilot in-person classes next year

BACOLOD CITY — In-person classes are expected to start in more schools in Bacolod City and  Negros Occidental early next year.

Bacolod Superintendent of Schools  Gladys Amylaine Sales said she has recommended in-person classes in five other schools in Bacolod City: Arceo Elementary School, Rafael Alunan Elementary School, Asuncion Lizares Elementary School, Fr. Gratian Murray Integrated School, and the Vista Alegre Granada Relocation Elementary School.

The target is to have in-person classes for 40 vaccinated learners in each grade level.

In-person classes started at the Alangilan National High School in Bacolod City and nine other schools in Negros Occidental on Monday, December 6.

The city’s Emergency Operations Center wants members of the households of the teachers and pupils attending in-person classes to be vaccinated.

Superintendent Marsette Sabbaluca said 28 other schools in the Negros Occidental Schools Division are expected to also have in-person classes early next year.
