To prevent the possibility of causing superspreader events, the Department of Health earlier appealed to political aspirants in the 2022 elections to refrain from holding political activities such as rallies that may lead to overcrowding.
It was on November 16 that Marcos and Duterte-Carpio confirmed their decision to run in tandem for next year’s national elections. Marcos is vying for the presidency while Duterte-Carpio is running for vice president.
“Mayor Inday Sara Duterte and I have finished the process for the partnership that our supporters have been hoping for — BBM-Sara for 2022,” Marcos said in Filipino in a statement.
“And we have agreed, together with our parties, to push for a united leadership in case fortune favors use in the coming elections on May 9, 2022,” he added.
