MMDA releases traffic scheme for INC prayer rally in Manila Tuesday

MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Development Authority released Monday the traffic scheme for the grand prayer rally of Iglesia Ni Cristo at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila Tuesday.

MMDA said that ahead of the 5 p.m. grand evangelical event, Katigbak Drive, South Drive and Independence Road would be closed to traffic from 12 noon of Tuesday onwards.

It said that all motorists have been advised to take President Quirino to Nagtahan, or Taft Avenue to get to Jones, McArthur and Quezon bridges.

MMDA also said parking areas would be arranged at the north wing of the Quirino Grandstand, while another would be placed at the South Drive from Roxas Boulevard to Independence Road for those with car passes.

One lane parking each at the Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos to P. Ocampo Street, and Bonifacio Drive from 25thstreet to Anda Cirle, on the other hand, will be made available for buses.

For light vehicles, the MMDA said that a one-lane parking area in T.M. Kalaw Street would be arranged.

MMDA also advised motorists to expect “heavy traffic” along the affected areas.
