LPA off Mindanao exits PAR; amihan, shear line to bring rain to parts of PH
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao has exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), but the northeast monsoon and shear line will still bring rains in some parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday.
Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren said in an afternoon forecast that the LPA exited PAR at 10 a.m.

“Kaninang alas-diyes ng umaga ay lumabas na po ng PAR ang binabantayan nating LPA at sa kasalukuyan, ‘yung shear line o ang pagsasalubong ng mainit at malamig na hangin ang nakakaapekto dito sa may silangang bahagi ng Kabisayaan,” she said.

Article continues after this advertisementBased on Pagasa’s forecast, the shear line and the trough or extension of the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas, Surigao Provinces, Dinagat Islands, and Davao Oriental.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will bring cloudy skies with light rains in Aurora, the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands, Camarines Provinces, and Catanduanes.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather, with cold weather at midnight until morning and a possibility of isolated light rains due to amihan.
The rest of Visayas will also have generally fair weather, with possible isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms.
The rest of Mindanao will likewise have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.

Puerto Princesa City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 19 to 28 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 23 to 28 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
