38 million Filipinos now fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 38.1 million Filipinos have so far completed the necessary doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, making them fully vaccinated against severe respiratory disease, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said Tuesday.

In a briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte aired on Tuesday morning, Duque said a total of 91.7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country as of Dec. 5, 56.7 million of which are first doses.

Duque also said the government was able to administer a total of 9.9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine during the national vaccination drive from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3 bringing the daily average of vaccinations in the country to 2.6 million, he said.

Duque said the government aims to complete the vaccination of 54 million Filipinos before 2021 ends.

President Rodrigo Duterte said during the briefing that the government is set to launch another round of the massive national vaccination drive on Dec. 15 to 17.
