Crazyhorse keeps men’s open lead in Aboitiz Football Cup
CRAZYHORSE continued to strengthen its hold of the top spot in bracket A with a 1-0 win against Panalpina World Transport in yesterday’s men’s open matches of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
The match, however, was marred by an altercation, which resulted to red cards to both Joshua Fegidero of the Crazyhorse and Brian Flores of the Panalpina.
Fegidero threw an elbow at Flores while was receiving a pass. Flores retaliated by punching Fegidero.
The Southwestern University (SWU) is also assured of moving into the next round after it took over the top spot in bracket B with a 9-0 annihilation of Uptown United.
The team overtook San Roque Football Club (SRFC) Arsenal, which failed to hold on to the top spot after losing to University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Alumni, 1-2.
SWU now has 13 points while SRFC Arsenal has 12 points.
