MANILA, Philippines — Only less than one percent of the 222,000 strong Philippine National Police (PNP) remains unvaccinated against COVID-19, the national police said Sunday.
According to the PNP, 0.43 percent or 965 of 225,676 personnel remain unvaccinated without reason.
Meanwhile, 865 or 0.38 percent of police personnel remain unvaccinated due to various valid reasons including having allergic reactions to the vaccines and other medical conditions, the PNP said.
In a statement, PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos said the organization is seeing a slow “narrowing of the gap” between those vaccinated and those who are not.
“We hope to convince every member of the more than 222,000 PNP force to be vaccinated to protect themselves and their family from the virus threat,” Carlos said.
Meanwhile, the PNP has recorded 42,210 cases, including 35 active cases, 42,050 recoveries and 125 deaths as of Sunday.
