5 Zambales towns now free of COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales, Philippines — The six remaining COVID-19 cases Iba, the provincial capital, were among the nine new recoveries in this province on Saturday, Dec. 4, making it free of the viral disease.
According to the latest data from the provincial health office, Iba had the highest number of confirmed cases in the province. Of the 9,847 cases recorded since the pandemic started last year, 1,400 were recorded in Iba.
The remaining active cases in the province has gone down to 22 after 9,604 of the reported cases recovered and 604 died.
Aside from Iba, the towns of San Narciso, Palauig, San Antonio, and San Felipe are also free from the disease.
The province inoculated 147,045 people — or 32.31 percent of its target population to achieve herd immunity.
