MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila is now at very low risk status for COVID-19, independent analytics group OCTA Research said Friday.
“Based on our metrics, the NCR (National Capital Region) is now classified as very low risk,” OCTA Research fellow Guido David said over Twitter.
According to OCTA’s data, Metro Manila only had 138 average new cases from November 26 to December 2 this year, lower than the 416 average cases from the same period last year.

Meanwhile the reproduction number of COVID-19 in the region is currently 0.36, the average daily attack rate per 100,000 individuals is 0.97, and the positivity rate is at 1.2 percent.
Based on the COVID-19 tracker of the Department of Health (DOH), Metro Manila currently has 3,434 cases of the disease while the country has 15,188 cases. On Thursday, the DOH reported 104 new cases in the capital region and 564 in the entire country.
In November, the government reported that 94 percent of Metro Manila’s target population have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
