MANILA, Philippines — The San Beda University (SBU) in Manila, where President Rodrigo Duterte obtained his law degree, lit up in pink last Wednesday in support of the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Pink is the color associated with Robredo’s bid for the presidency in the 2022 elections.

According to a Facebook post from The Bedan, Fr. Aelred Nilo, SBU Vice President for Administration, said the San Beda Community is “one in support of VP Leni’s presidential bid, believing that she embodies the Benedictine ideals of pax, ora et labora and the genuine servant-leadership qualities that the Filipino nation is yearning for especially during this troubled time.”

Aside from SBU, other universities that earlier lit up the facades of their buildings in pink in support of Robredo are Adamson University in Manila, and the Universidad de Sta. Isabel and Ateneo de Naga University in Robredo’s hometown in Naga City.
