Last month, the IPHO recorded 211 new COVID-19 patients. The IPHO logged 2,115 COVID-19 cases in October and 5,342 in September.

The recorded active cases in Quezon have also declined to 83 as of Wednesday, Dec. 1, from the highest single-day tally of 2,570 on Sept. 21.

Lucena City, Quezon’s capital, topped the list with 44 active virus carriers from 571 recorded on Oct. 14.

Even with the decline in COVID-19 cases, Gov. Danilo Suarez urged residents to remain vigilant and continue the relentless campaign to control, if not end, the pandemic’s grip on the province.

“Let us all maintain discipline by observing all safety protocols to prevent the resurgence of new cases,” he said.

At least 18 of 41 municipalities in Quezon are now free from COVID-19.
