1 million doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrive in PH
MANILA, Philippines — Over one million doses of US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to the Philippines on Wednesday night.
The doses, which were purchased by the national government, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at around 8 p.m., according to a livestream of state-run PTV.
The doses arrived just as the government closed its three-day national COVID-19 vaccination drive, which aimed to inoculate nine million Filipinos against the severe respiratory disease.
As of Nov. 30, the national government was able to vaccinate over five million individuals against COVID-19, according to the Department of Health’s (DOH) national vaccination dashboard.
The vaccination drive started on Nov. 29 and ended on Dec. 1.
