CEBU CITY — The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) has allowed nine universities and colleges in Cebu to hold limited in-person classes.
Eight of these schools offer medical and nursing courses while one offers maritime courses, said Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementer of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
These are the Southwestern University-PHINMA, Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine, the University of Cebu-Banilad, the University of San Carlos Talamban campus, St. Paul College, School of Midwifery, the Cebu Normal University, Velez College and the University of Cebu-METC.
Garganera said the EOC was coordinating with the CHEd and the Department of Health to prepare campuses for physical classes.
“For lectures, the classes will be done virtually. They will only conduct face-to-face classes if [laboratory sessions] are really needed,” he said. —NESTLE SEMILLA
