MANILA, Philippines — Four political parties have signed an agreement to form the “UniTeam” of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

The alliance was formalized through an agreement signing on Thursday morning at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel in Pasay City.

The agreement is between Marcos’ Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the convenor of the alliance, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), Lakas-CMD and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP).

The signatories are PFP president and South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr.; HNP president and Davao Occidental Gov. Claude Bautista; Lakas-CMD president and House Majority Leader Rep. Martin G. Romualdez; and PMP president former senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada.

Marcos Jr. is the presidential candidate of PFP while Duterte-Carpio is the vice presidential bet of Lakas-CMD and HNP, which she heads.

“[I]n view of the shared vision of the Convenor and Partners, all parties have agreed to forge this ALLIANCE that will pave the way for unity, strength, and continued positive change for the country,” the agreement read.

All parties agreed to give their full and unqualified support to Marcos Jr. and Duterte-Carpio under the alliance.

Meanwhile, the agreement also states that “all partners shall be allowed to field one senatorial candidate in the line-up.”

PMP’s support

“As chairman of the PMP, it is with pride and honor that I signify our commitment and loyalty to the formidable UniTeam alliance in pursuit of our common agenda of peace, progress and prosperity for our beloved country,” Estrada said during the signing of the UniTeam Alliance on Thursday.

“Aside from the fact na kaming tatlo po ay pawang mga anak ng Presidente, hindi na po talaga maaalis sa aming kamalayan, sa aming dugo, at sa aming mga puso ang maka-paglingkod sa ating mahal ng bayan,”  Estrada,  son of former President  Joseph Estrada, added.

(Aside from the fact that the three of us are children of presidents, we can’t erase from our memories, our blood and our hearts our service to our beloved countrymen.”)

He added that this is what sets their “brand of service apart” from the rest.
