MANILA, Philippines — The Pakistan Navy’s largest warship is in Manila for a goodwill visit. Philippine Navy spokesperson Commander Benjo Negranza said the Pakistani warship Tughril arrived on Monday at Pier 15 of Manila South Harbor and will be in the country until Wednesday.

The Pakistan Navy’s most modern frigate Tughril, the lead ship of her class, was commissioned by the Pakistan Navy on Nov. 8.

Tughril was accorded a simple welcome by the Philippine Navy delegation, led by Capt. Emilio Orio Jr., deputy assistant chief of naval staff for plans, and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Manila Imtiaz Kazi.

The Philippine Navy will accord PNS Tughril a sendoff ceremony on Wednesday.
