Over P137,000 worth of 'shabu' seized in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Police have confiscated P137,200 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from an alleged member of a criminal group operating in this province.

Col. Romano Cardiño, police provincial director, identified the suspect as James Bactad, 51, who is on the province’s drug watchlist and a member of the notorious Buela Criminal Group.

Armed with a warrant, police searched the house of Bactad in nearby San Narciso town and discovered 33 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 19.6 grams and several drug paraphernalia.

Bactad was immediately arrested and was detained at the San Narciso Municipal Police Station.

He will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
