MANILA, Philippines — Only three police personnel contracted COVID-19 on Monday, but active infections among the police ranks already went down to 104, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

This is lower than Sunday’s active case count of 109, data from the PNP’s Public Information Office (PNP-PIO) also showed.

Meanwhile, there were eight new recoveries, while there was no new deaths recorded due to the disease.

As of now, the total number of recoveries is now at 41,935 while the total number of confirmed cases is at 42,164.

The PNP recently also saw a decrease in infections after the surge last August and September ended.

This was also attributed to a high vaccination rate within the police force, with 204,728 officers or 91.27 of the PNP’s entire strength fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of November 10.

Another 7.50 percent or 16,833 individuals also received their first dose of the two-shot COVID-19 vaccine, leaving only 1.23 percent of the commissioned and non-commissioned officers unvaccinated.
