MANILA, Philippines — Labor leader and presidential aspirant Ka Leody de Guzman has dared President Rodrigo Duterte to order an investigation into the alleged cocaine use of another presidential aspirant and not just “gossiping” about it.

De Guzman issued the challenge after Duterte claimed on Thursday night that an unnamed presidential candidate in the 2022 polls is doing cocaine.

“Tiyak kilalang-kilala ni Duterte kung sino ang supplier ng kandidatong yan na nagpapasok ng cocaine sa bansa. Yan dapat ang pokusan para mahuli at matigil na,” De Guzman said in a statement on Friday.

(Duterte surely knows who is the cocaine supplier of that candidate. He should focus on that so he could make an arrest and stop it)

“Kaysa i-tsismis lang, ipahuli na ang kandidatong yan para ipa-rehab,” he added.

(Instead of spreading gossip, arrest that candidate and then have him rehabilitated)

While not identifying the candidate, Duterte hinted that the aspirant comes from a well-known and rich family. Duterte also questioned the said presidential aspirant’s contribution to the country.

Meanwhile, De Guzman has this to say to the unnamed presidential aspirant mentioned by Duterte:

“Sa dami ng kasalanan, ninakaw at pinatay ng pamilya niyan, malulong talaga sa droga yan para takasan ang katotohanan.”

(Due to all the sins, plunder, and for those who got killed by that family, that presidential aspirant will get addicted to drugs to escape reality)
