Fully-vaxxed defense chief catches COVID-19 again

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana has tested positive for COVID-19, a day after he physically attended the Senate plenary debates on his agency’s 2022 budget.

MANILA, Philippines — Fully inoculated Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana again tested positive for the new coronavirus disease after returning from official trips to Spain and Poland.

Before returning to the Philippines from Poland, Lorenzana tested negative for COVID-19.

He arrived in the Philippines on Sunday night. On Tuesday, he attended a Senate hearing on his agency’s 2022 budget and he was subjected to a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test that showed him to be carrying the novel coronavirus.
