Fire displaces 19 families in Olongapo City

OLONGAPO CITY At least 19 families or 85 individuals were displaced after a fire engulfed a residential area in Barangay Pag-asa here on Tuesday.

Angelito Layug, head of the city’s disaster risk reduction and management office, said the fire was reported to the city’s emergency hotline at about 12:34 p.m.

Firefighters from the local station of the Bureau of Fire Protection managed to put out the fire around 1:20 p.m.

Layug said no one was injured in the blaze, adding that the affected families were temporarily relocated to the barangay building and were provided with food, clothes, hygiene kits, and other basic needs.

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire. INQ
