SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) on Monday, Nov. 15, started its COVID-19 vaccination for children ages 12 through 17 with the help of the Department of Health (DOH).
Eligible minors who are children of free port residents and workers have been accommodated during the pediatric vaccination at the mall in this freeport, said Wilma Eisma, SBMA chair and administrator.
Eisma said the national government donated the Pfizer vaccines given to the children.
It was part of the intensified vaccine rollout for stakeholders inside the free port, she said.
Since last week, the SBMA has been allowing “walk-ins” during its mass vaccination at the mall.
As of Nov. 11, at least 4,326 residents or workers inside the free port have been fully vaccinated, SBMA data showed.
Eisma also announced that many establishments here, including stores in malls, have 100-percent fully vaccinated employees.
“The Subic community is nearing herd immunity, thanks to the DOH-SBMA vaccine rollout and the cooperation of our economic partners who can now provide you with services you missed during the quarantine periods,” she said in a statement.
