MULTICAB RUNS OVER BOY
A 6-YEAR-OLD boy died on the spot after he was run over by a multicab in a narrow road in barangay Opao, Mandaue City.
The accident happened in front of the Opao police station last Thursday afternoon.
Police said the boy was walking on the gutter near a small bridge leading to the police station.
The boy lost his balance, slipped and fell on the pavement and was run over by a multicab driven by Randy Elbura, 26.
The multicab with plate number JDE-927 is owned by Sandeva Water Refilling Station. The driver surrendered to the police after the accident.
Elbura said he didn’t notice the boy fall to the ground as he was trying to avoid a vehicle from the opposite lane.

‘JOGGER’ FOUND DEAD
A 67-YEAR-OLD man was found dead along a road in barangay San Isidro, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Police said it was possible that Quirino Abasola of barangay Cansojong, Talisay, suffered a heart attack while jogging at the South Road Properties early morning yesterday./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL. BONJOC
P500T LOST IN TALISAY BURGLARY
A 53-YEAR-OLD businessman said he lost P500,000 to unidentified thieves who entered his house in Talisay City Thursday afternoon.
Antonio Araneta was not home when the burglary took place.
He said he discovered the loss when he came home in the evening and then reported it to the Talisay City police.
SPO4 Daniel Tarucan said there were no signs of forced entry in the house.

3 farmers hurt in strafing
TWO brothers and a 27-year-old man were shot and wounded during a drinking session in barangay Cantolaroy, Sibonga town, southern Cebu.
Clisergs Antiquina, 19; his 22-year-old brother, Concordia; and Glen Suerte, 27, sustained several gunshot wounds.
Police said the three farmers were drinking in the house of Aladin Arnaiz when they were strafed past 9 p.m. last Thursday.
Police said the group was not able to see the assailant because of the dark surroundings.
The three men were brought by relatives to a Cebu City hospital.
