Drug suspect killed, 2 others nabbed in CamSur; over P7.3M shabu seized

LEGAZPI CITY – A drug suspect was killed while two others were arrested and more than P7.3 million worth of illegal drugs was recovered in a buy-bust operation in the municipality of Nabua, and Naga City  Camarines Sur early Monday.

Police Major Divino John Pelea, Nabua police chief, said the slain suspect was identified as Bienvenido Dinsing Jr., a newly identified drug suspect and a resident of Pamplona town.

Pelea said that after selling shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover agent, Dinsing apprently sensed that an operation was ongoing, drew his firearm and opened fire in Barangay (village) Sta. Elena Baras at around 3 a.m.

Authorities were forced to retaliate and wounded the suspect.

Dinsing was taken to  hospital but died along the way.

Pelea said the police confiscated a kilo of shabu with an estimated market value of around P7 million and a .9mm caliber gun.

In Naga City, Alicia Benavides, 51, was arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in Barangay Balatas at around 1:15 a.m.

Police Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said the authorities confiscated  shabu worth around P204,000.

Benavides was included in the illegal drugs watch list in the city.

In Barangay Concepcion Pequeña, also in Naga City, Marlon Rosquetes, 37, was also arrested in a separate operation at around 12:25 a.m.

Bongon said the suspect yielded 25 grams of shabu worth an estimated P170,000.
