MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 1,926 more infections of COVID-19 and 3,140 new recoveries, bringing down active infections in the country to 28,102.

The new cases, meanwhile, bring the total confirmed cases to 2,816,980.

It also represents 3.9 percent of the 40,996 individuals tested — below 5 percent, indicating controlled transmission of the virus, according to the World Health Organization’s standards.
