MANILA, Philippines — Senator Bong Go will be running as president in the upcoming elections but not under the PDP-Laban party.
PDP-Laban Secretary General Melvin Matibag said Go will be running as the standard bearer of the Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) party.
“SBG withdrew his candidacy for VP and filed his candidacy for President under PDDS,” Matibag said in a Viber message thread.
Grepor Belgica, the father of Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission chairman Greco Belgica, was earlier fielded by PDDS as its presidential candidate.
Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar also threw his support behind Go’s presidential bid.
“The long wait is almost over. Ang Presidente ko ay si Bong Go! (Bong Go is my president!),” he said in a Facebook post.
