Cloudy Friday with isolated rain showers nationwide — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and rain showers are expected nationwide on Friday due to the northeast monsoon and localized thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.
The state weather bureau said the tailend of a frontal system (shearline) and northeast monsoon continue to persist over Northern Luzon, which will trigger rain showers in the provinces of Batanes and Cagayan.
Pagasa added that the northeast monsoon will likewise bring isolated rain showers over the rest of Northern Luzon (Ilocos region, the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley).
Slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated rain showers are seen over the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila due to localized thunderstorms, Pagasa also reported.
The Visayas and Mindanao regions are also expected to have slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa likewise raised a gale warning over the seaboardss of Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.
