Lakas-CMD to go ‘all out’ to assure Inday Sara’s triumph in her ‘endeavors’
MANILA, Philippines — The Lakas-CMD party will go “all out” to assure Davao City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s “triumph” in whatever path she will take, party chairman Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. said Thursday.
Revilla made the remark after Duterte-Carpio joined the Lakas-CMD party just hours after leaving her regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), further fueling speculations on her possible run for a national post.
“We are more than honored that Mayor Sara chose LAKAS as her national party. We have worked with Mayor Sara in the past, and in fact continue to be allies in coalition with her former local party – Hugpong ng Pagbabago,” Revilla said in a statement.
“All out ang LAKAS sa anumang tatahakin ni Mayor Sara (Lakas will go all out on whatever path Mayor Sara will take) and we will work to assure her success and triumph, which will also be the success and triumph of the Party, of the nation, and of all Filipinos,” he added.
Duterte-Carpio took oath as a member of Lakas-CMD before House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, the president of the party, at the Revilla Farm in Silang, Cavite at exactly 6 p.m. on Thursday.
