MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook the waters off Catanduanes on Thursday, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
According to the Phivolcs’ earthquake bulletin, the epicenter of the quake was located 51 kilometers (km) southeast of Baras, Catanduanes and was recorded at 5:38 p.m.
Phivolcs said that Intensity I was felt in Legazpi City, Albay.
State seismologists said that the quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of only 4 kilometers.
Meanwhile, no damages and aftershocks are expected, according to Phivolcs.
