MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with light rains are still expected to continue in the northern part of Luzon as well as scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in both Cagayan and the Bicol Region on Friday, said the Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
According to Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario, this is due to the prevailing easterlies in the Bicol Region, as well as the shear line in Northern Luzon.
The rest of Northern Luzon, meanwhile, is affected by the northeast monsoon, or what is colloquially known as the “amihan.”
“The rest of Luzon including Metro Manila ay magkakaroon naman ng maaliwalas na panahon maliban naman sa mahihinang pagulan diyan sa nalalabing bahagi ng Northern and Central Luzon,” said Ordinario.
(The rest of Luzon including Metro Manila will have clear weather except for light rains there in the rest of Northern and Central Luzon.)
“Sa Metro Manila and the Southern Tagalog area ay magkakaroon naman ng isolated rain showers or thunderstorm,” he added.
(In Metro Manila and the Southern Tagalog area, there will be isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.)
The entire Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, will experience generally fair weather with clear skies, said Ordinario, however, isolated rain showers are still possible.
Ordinario also said that no storms are forecasted to enter the country’s area of responsibility in the next three days.
