DOH logs 60 more COVID-related deaths following glitch on reporting

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday 60 backlog deaths due to COVID-19 complications following a technical issue with its reporting system.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday 60 backlog deaths due to COVID-19 complications following a technical issue with its reporting system.

“The DOH today reports an additional 60 deaths. Of this number, 37 were previously reported recoveries but have been validated to be deaths. The additional deaths were due to technical issues encountered with COVIDKaya last November 8,” the DOH said in a statement.

The DOH said that the total number of deaths is now at 44,725. Meanwhile, the total number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 is now at 2,735,471 and the overall active cases are at 29,115.

The country has so far recorded a total of 2,809,311 confirmed cases of infectious disease, according to the health agency.
