2 kids die in Caloocan City fire
MANILA, Philippines — A 7-year-old girl and a toddler were killed in a fire that struck their home in Caloocan City early Thursday morning, authorities said.
The blaze, which also razed residential houses along Ilang-ilang St., Barangay 185 Caloocan City, led to the death of the girl and the 2-year-old boy, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
The fire reached the first alarm at 1:05 am. It was put under control at 1:47 am and was extinguished at around 3:20 am.
Some 15 families lost their homes in the fire, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the BFP said.
The Caloocan City Government said it will provide assistance to the residents affected by the fire.
“The city provides relief packs and cash assistance to our fire victims,” the local government’s information officer told INQUIRER.net.
