Only 12 active COVID-19 cases left among Central Luzon cops

OLONGAPO CITY — The number of active COVID-19 cases among policemen in Central Luzon dropped to 12 on Wednesday as the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) did not record an additional infection for two consecutive days.

Data from the health service of the PRO3 showed that its current tally of active cases was the lowest in over a year since recording its first infection.

PRO3 has already posted zero daily new COVID-19 cases at least five times since October, sustaining the downward trend.

Data also showed that no new deaths related to the viral disease were registered by the PRO3 since October 15. Its COVID-19 death cases remained at seven.

Since last year, a total of 2,939 COVID-19 cases were logged among the workforce of the Philippine National Police in the region but at least 2,920 of these were recoveries. It reflected a 99.3-percent recovery rate.
