99 more patients die due to COVID-19 complications, says DOH
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported Wednesday the passing of 99 more coronavirus-stricken individuals, which raised the nationwide death toll to 44,665 since the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020.
Based on DOH data, the total number of deaths represents 1.59 percent of all 2,809,311 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
The DOH earlier said that COVID-related deaths are declining, averaging 10 deaths from November 1-5.
This was lower than the average of 73 deaths in October, 179 in September, and 174 in August.

Article continues after this advertisementEarlier, the DOH clarified that some death cases reported in its daily bulletin include those who died in the past months.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of November 10, some 29,138 people remain sick due to the new coronavirus of which 60.8 percent were mild cases, 7 percent were asymptomatic, 17.38 percent were moderate, 10.4 percent were severe, and 4.4 percent were critical.
The DOH’s latest report also indicated that 42 percent of intensive care unit beds for COVID-19 patients, 32 percent of isolation beds, and 24 percent of ward beds and ventilators were being utilized.
