MANILA, Philippines — The number of areas in Metro Manila placed under granular lockdown has gone down to 35, with only 148 households affected, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said Wednesday.
In a taped briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte aired Wednesday morning, Año said a total of 413 areas across the country are under granular lockdown as of Nov. 6, affecting a total of 7,000 households or 29,000 individuals.
A total of 44 areas, including cities and provinces, are currently under the government’s new five-tier alert level system, which shifted the focus from community wide quarantine restrictions to granular lockdowns.
Metro Manila is currently under Alert Level 2 until Nov. 21.
